California Corn Nuggets
While traveling in Japan in 1989, a California farmer and almond processor witnessed a process of roasting Peruvian corn. The product was so impressive that he purchased the recipe and returned to California with plans to build his own corn processing plant.
The original variety of corn seed used to create California Nuggets is over 1000 years old. This variety was then blended with an American vsriety to produce an unique plump white kernel.
Soon the new seed variety was planted here in California. In the year 2000 a California version of product was offered to the domestic and international marketplace under the California Nuggets label.

The response was overwhelming. Today, California Nuggets Roasted Toasted Corn is available in several mouthwatering flavors and packages in bulk and retail bag sizes.
The steam baked, oil roasted process seals in the natural corn flavor and creates a plumper, whiter kernel with a healthy nutritional profile. Some corn kernel snacks are tough to crunch. California nuggets are so light, you can crunch it between your fingers.

The California Nuggets production facilities provide for an assortment of food processing options from sorting to roasting, seasoning, and packaging.
Cold storage facilities, shipping dock and warehouses are also available at this facility. This location also houses a complete state-of-the-art nut processing plant.

All processes are regulated by strict quality control methods. Practices include Hazard Analysis Critical Control Procedures (HACCP), Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). We are certified by the American Institute of Baking (AIB) and OK Kosher Certified.
